FIRE MOUNTAIN BOARD
Board President and Treasurer: Margaret Hammit-McDonald, PhD.  Margaret practices Chinese Medicine in Cannon Beach, and has a child in our Elementary class.  She has brought a wealth of ideas and solutions to the Fire Mountain Community, and has brought order to our amazing library.

Board Member and School Administrator: Faith Deur:  Faith is both a Board Member and our school Administrator, which means we also get to have her experience present in the school every day, to help in all those daily transitions for children, parents and teachers.  All three of Faith's children have attended Fire Mountain, and her husband Doug is a valuable member of our Elders Council.  She is a generous volunteer, and also happens to be an excellent baker (lucky us!).

Board Member: Maya Vidal.  Maya and her husband Yuri have been part of the Fire Mountain and North Coast community for years.  And lucky for us they own Crepe Neptune in Cannon Beach, a favorite with our students!  Maya brings her organizational skills and business savvy to our school community, and both of her children attend FMS.

Board Member: Amy Ekstrom.  Amy is a business owner in Cannon Beach and is a Fundraiser Extraordinaire!  Both of Amy's awesome children attend FMS.

Board Elders:
Liz Beckman.  Liz Beckman has been involved in Fire Mountain School for 3 decades.  All four of her children attended Fire Mountain.  Liz and her husband Chris live in Cannon Beach and continue to be great supporters of our community.  She has a fabulous green thumb, and often shares her flower garden's bounty with the school. We all learn so much from Liz and her experienced, learned and measured approach to develop and improve this community.

Vivi Tallman.  Vivi too has been involved in Fire Mountain since the beginning.  Vivi has worn many hats here at the school, and has such a depth of Fire Mountain cultural knowledge.  Her children attended the school, she lived here in the Cove for years, and she continues to share her talents and rich experience as both Board Treasurer and as an essential part of our Elders Council.
