FIRE MOUNTAIN BOARD
Board President and Treasurer: Margaret Hammit-McDonald, PhD, ND, L.Ac: (Mar) is a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist practicing in Cannon Beach. Mar has a child in our Western Wolves elementary class. She has brought a wealth of ideas and solutions to the Fire Mountain Community, and has brought order to our amazing library.
Board Member: Faith Deur: All three of Faith's children have attended Fire Mountain, and her husband Doug is a valuable member of our Elders Council. She is a generous volunteer, and also happens to be an excellent baker (lucky us!).
Board Member: Beth Radich: Beth has been involved with Fire Mountain School for five years and is also Grounds lead chair, so has overseen lofty projects such as moving and upgrading our play structure and preparing our grounds for outdoor school. She has a daughter in the Western Wolves.
Board Member: Sarah Reese: Sarah is a Holistic Wellness Mentor with a degree in East Asian Medicine. She has been involved with Fire Mountain School since 2015 and has a daughter in the Wester Wolves class.
Board Member and Volunteer Administrator: Maurie O'Dea: Maurie runs a small family business and is a mother of two boys, one Western Wolf and an incoming Eaglet. She has been involved with Fire Mountain School since 2019 and is honored to serve the school community as Parent Volunteer Administrator.
Board Elders:
Liz Beckman. Liz Beckman has been involved in Fire Mountain School for 3 decades. All four of her children attended Fire Mountain. Liz and her husband Chris live in Cannon Beach and continue to be great supporters of our community. She has a fabulous green thumb, and often shares her flower garden's bounty with the school. We all learn so much from Liz and her experienced, learned and measured approach to develop and improve this community.
Vivi Tallman. Vivi too has been involved in Fire Mountain since the beginning. Vivi has worn many hats here at the school, and has such a depth of Fire Mountain cultural knowledge. Her children attended the school, she lived here in the Cove for years, and she continues to share her talents and rich experience as both Board Treasurer and as an essential part of our Elders Council.
