The Fire Mountain experience is centered around play. We meet children where they are and lean in to their individual passions, allowing them to explore at their own pace and follow their own path of interest. We believe in the power of child-led learning.
We support our student’s social, emotional, physical, creative and cognitive growth using the whole child approach. Grades and testing are not employed as measures of performance.
Fire Mountain students are curious, confident, and creative problem solvers that participate as stewards of their home place. For over 40 years we have witnessed our program instill in it’s students a life-time love of learning. The FMS alumni in our own community are a reflection of the long-lasting benefits of our program.

Tuition at FMS is comparatively lower than most private schools because we: a.) are a non-profit organization b.) have a small staff and rely on parent contribution to maintain our school grounds and school culture. c.) actively fundraise and pursue grants throughout the year.
Parents of Fire Mountain students are the members of the non-profit. Members have the right to vote to elect board members and have a say in fundamental matters. Parent-Member feedback is utilized to implement and update school policy and procedure throughout the year.
